Q. Where do you prefer to do your fishing here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast?
A.We prefer to fish in the skinny waters around the coastal barrier islands and the Louisiana marsh.
Q. What is your favorite species?
A. Still Water Fishing Charters specializes in trophy trout fishing. Team Still Water often fishes local tournaments and has won and placed multiple times this season in the trophy trout category.
Q. What is your favorite time of year to fish?
A. When the bite is on, no, seriously. We just simply love to fish and if we can get out we go and have tons of fun no matter what time of year it is!
Q. What is your targeted species of fish for the late summer/early fall months?
A. We like to start the mornings off speckled trout fishing as the sun rises and then continue the action in search of redfish, flounder, triple tail, cobia or any of the many other species bountiful in our vast gulf. Wade fishing trips are a hit in cooler months and can produce that trophy trout as well as perfect slot reds.
Q. What makes your guide service different from other guide services?
A. At Still Water we are not just after a quick limit, we want the client to have a fun filled day leaving them wanting to come back for more. We take fishing seriously and love to have fun while doing it. We spend countless hours prepping for each trip and keeping our boats in top shape. Still Water has full time guides with knowledge, skill, ability and years of experience. Our aim is to exceed the expectations of our clients, weather they are a novice or seasoned angler.
Q. How long is your typical guide trip?
A. Half day (4 hours) or full day (8 hour) trips. We also offer floundering and sightseeing specific trips. We fish out of 23ft bay boats that safely navigate across open seas, but can also advance into the shallowest spots allowing for sight casting. With two boats available, we can accommodate groups up to 8. Larger groups can be accommodated with advanced notice.
Q. How long have you been fishing these waters?
A. Growing up on The Coast has been great. As a kid, my parents would drop me off after school to wade fish the front beach and I worked on a Chandeleur boat 40 miles south. Over the past 15 years these experiences have been great and have really prepared me to provide my clients the best chance to catch their trophy fish.
Q. Where does your guide service call home?
A. We operate year round out of the Long Beach Harbor and can be found at pier 4 slip 11.
